ESTABLISH
Intentionally ESTABLISH Biblical Foundations
Foundations matter! Investing in foundations is an act of faith.
Too many Christians find their faith rattled or find themselves on shaky ground when storms come their way. Storms in life are inevitable, Jesus says that in this world we will have trouble, however we can stormproof our lives and the lives of the people we disciple by establishing Biblical foundations.
Jesus challenges everyone who is considering following Him, to count the cost (Luke 14:28).
Our job as disciples who make disciples is to help people dig deep, establish solid spiritual foundations and prepare themselves spiritually to face whatever storms come their way.
We do this by building Biblical foundations. That means establishing a believer in the faith, in Spirit, in the Word and in church community.
Practical Ideas:
Alpha:
This is an 11-week course that looks at different questions around faith and facilitates conversation about life and God. Each talk is around thirty minutes long and given by a speaker or played as a video. They explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions from Who is Jesus? and How can we have faith? to Why and how do I pray? and How does God guide us? One of the most important parts of any Alpha: the chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic, and discuss in a small group. There’s no obligation to say anything and there’s nothing you can’t say (seriously). It’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.
Foundations:
This resource helps new believers get off to the right start as they follow Christ. It covers salvation, lordship, repentance, baptism, the Bible, prayer and the Church. It aims to establish strong Biblical foundations of what it means to be a christian from the onset of their journey.

The Lordship Circle:
This diagram helps to visually demonstrate what it looks like to move from a self-directed to a Christ-centered life. It is a diverse and accessible tool that you can use whether you are on the streets ministering to unbelievers or discipling a new believer in your home.
